A remarkable story, and one that deserved to be told and shared widely. For her to have survived so many frays, including Anzio--as you well know, Alex, "Hell's Half-Acre" well deserved its evil name from all that German shelling, despite the hospitals and casualty clearance stations found there--only to die in this remote plane crash: what could be more poignant.

Thank you Alex - this is an amazing story and it is important to remember that women were hero's during the War. They not only kept the home fires burning and worked in industry but many gave their lives to fight for freedom!!!
